Email firstname.lastname@example.org LAUNCH into Easter with a festive spirit ITS that time again, when parents all over the city are wondering how to entertain their children during the school holidays. City of Darwin has you covered during the Easter break with free activities for young people, including the highly anticipated LAUNCH Youth Festival as part of National Youth Week Celebrations. You can also enjoy free movies at our libraries, including Casuarina with its new giant cinema screen. Check the libraries page for session details and times. Come and join local artist Gina Trengrove for an afternoon of art facepainting with your kids. Better than your average facepainting session, this fun and interactive workshop teaches children to paint their own faces using some neat tricks. Workshops run Tuesday, April 7, at Casuarina Library, Wednesday, April 8, at Nightcliff Library, Thursday, April 9, at the City Library and Friday, April 10, at Karama Library. The LAUNCH Youth Festival runs from Friday, April 10, until Sunday, April 12, at Browns Mart, Happy Yess and Civic Park. Activities include free workshops, live music shows featuring Sietta, William Singe, Battle of the Bands and an acoustic jam in the park, a popup art space, various art exhibitions, a swap party and even an upcycle workshop. This years program also includes #LAUNCHQUEST, a social media scavenger hunt where teams complete tasks and submit photo entries on Instagram to win a grand prize which includes a ticket to Bass in the Grass. Visit the website launchdarwin.com.au to find out more.
