The unlikely pairing of exercise and coconut oil has been shown to improve blood pressure in research from the Federal University of Paraiba in Brazil. In their study on rats, scientists found the animals that exercised and consumed coconut oil for five weeks lost weight and their blood pressure went down. Each activity done individually was shown to reduce blood pressure, but hypertension only normalised when the two were combined. The studys authors believe the drop can be traced back to the effects coconut oil and exercise have on reducing oxidative stress in the blood serum, heart and aorta.
