Page 3 of 4 IT IS AGREED by THE GOVERNMENT OF SOUTH AUSTRALIA AND THE NORTHERN TERRITORY GOVERNMENT as follows: 1. SCOPE OF THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING 1.1 The objective of this Memorandum of Understanding is to foster a closer working relationship between the two governments. 1.2 South Australian Government and the Northern Territory Government agree to collaborate and further enhance our relationship for the mutual benefit of our communities. 1.3 This collaboration may focus on, but not be limited to, the following areas: 1.3.1 economic development 1.3.2 infrastructure 1.3.3 establishing a central Australian mining and energy province through harmonising and simplifying regulation, collaborating to support the growing mining services industry and attracting inbound foreign investment 1.3.4 services and support to the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands 1.3.5 environmental initiatives 1.3.6 tourism 1.3.7 artistic endeavour. 1.4 The parties further agree to share advice and support in the development of new projects, or expansion of successful projects. 2. ESTABLISHMENT OF FIRST MINISTERS FORUM 2.1 To foster and progress the collaborative effort, the parties agree to establish a First Ministers forum. 2.2 First Ministers will meet at least once a year to progress priority issues. 2.3 First Ministers agencies will serve as the key contacts and respective secretariats with regard to this MOU.
