16 Middle Harbour 2014 5.2 Middle Harbour The eastern part of Middle harbour receives stormwater runoff from Darwins urban area. Monitoring locations extend from the East Arm boundary across to the Western side of the harbour and south towards Channel Island. The area is a busy conduit for shipping traffic and marine services. Figure 5 summarises the results of all water quality parameters measured at the Middle Harbour monitoring sites. Table 5 reports median values and 20th-80th percentiles (compliance), minimum and maximum values of the data measured. Table 5 - Summary of water quality parameters measured in Middle Harbour All water quality parameters complied with WQOs for the mid estuary category: Water quality at the Middle Harbour reporting zone is in excellent condition. No specific spatial or temporal trend has been identified in Middle Harbour for the parameters studied over the last year. Last reporting year the Middle Harbour rated a B with departures for dissolved oxygen. The 2014 median values were all compliant with local benchmarks.
