ALC 15 year Strategic Plan 8. Goal D: Strengthen Community Capacity 112 community is passive to one in which the community is actively engaged and the service provider is building capacity. The ALC will support this project through its Community Liaison Unit with the assistance of an Indigenous Employment Program (IEP) provider who will undertake to support the development of a core team of eight people and the ongoing support of the team for a period of 12 months. The provider will provide training and mentoring, and assist the ALC with negotiating with the various service providers to establish appropriate ethical protocols to ensure the local team and the outside agencies develop a professional relationship and best practice. ACTIONS: 139. Monitor the Community Engagement/Consultation Project, an on-island consultation service to streamline local consultation of local people and reduce over-consultation.
