The young lady was on way to Auckland for the benefit of her health, and left Reefton last Monday. New Zealand Herald 6 December 1890 pg 1 Deaths HENNELLY On December 4, at Roches Hotel, Westport, on her road home, Kate, eldest daughter of the late John Hennelly, Thames, aged 19 years. Inangahua Times 8 December 1890 pg 2 The friends of the late Miss Hennelly followed her remains to the Reefton Cemetery yesterday, where the burial service was performed by the Rev. Father Roland. As a manifestation of the esteem in which the deceased was held, a large number of her Reefton friends and others from the surrounding dis trict, attended. Patrick may have returned to Westport for a period as there was a piece in the paper about the death of Mr. W. J. Potts, who was the proprietor and editor of the Inangahua Times, on the 26 January 1891. Mr. Potts had left Reefton for Sydney to improve his health but this did not improve and so was on his return journey in January. He had reached Wellington on the 19th and was intending to return to Reefton by the following Wednesday but at the last moment changed his mind. His condition had become critical and Mrs. Potts was sent a telegram to come with out delay. At 8 0clock on Saturday night, an urgent telegram was received from Mr. P. Brennan, jun., saying that Mr. Potts was not expected to live, and at 9 oclock on Sunday morning Mr. R Reeves, M.H.R. wired to say that Mr. Potts had passed away at 9.35 Saturday night.
