With the exception of investments, there is no recognised market for the financial assets of the Council. Credit Risk Exposures Credit risk represents the loss that would be recognised if counterparties fail to perform as contracted. The maximum credit risk on financial assets of the Council is the carrying amount, net of any provision for doubtful debts. Except as detailed in Note 7 in relation to individual classes of financial assets, exposure is concentrated within the Council's boundaries within the Northern Territory, and there is no material exposure to any individual debtor.
