This social group is firstly and fore mostly offering a safe environment for children from 7 years and over diagnosed with High Functioning Autism/ Aspergers to socialise with others like themselves. At the weekly sessions we encourage everyone to explore their own interest, gaming, creating and we provide mentors with technical skills and knowledge to guide and help develop technology skills. When: Every Wednesday from 3rd February to 2nd April Time: 3:30pm 5:30pm Who: 7 years and over diagnosed with HFA/Aspergers Where: Darwin City Library The Digital Hub Room Cost: $150 for the term Software Social Group This social group is suitable for high school students who are interested in learning Python Programming, Web Programming and Game programming. No prior experience needed as the mentors deliver step by step scaffolded instruction lessons. During the course the children will start thinking about developing a project which will help practise these skills. This project will be the vehicle for further involvement with programming. The project ideally will involve extra learning, e.g. build a dynamic website, or an online game or a mobile application. Prior skills: None - just an interest to learn programming When: Every Saturday from 8th February to 28th March Time: 9am 11am Who: 12 years and over diagnosed with HFA/Aspergers who are interested in doing structured lessons Where: Darwin City Library The Digital Hub Room Cost: $150 for the term Full payment secures your position.
