TriceP diP Why This classic move targets the tricep muscles in your upper arms. hoW Sit on the edge of a bench or step (about 50cm high) with your feet on the floor, hip-width apart and slightly in front of your knees. Place your hands, palms down, on the edge of the bench and curl your fingers over the edge. Straighten your arms and shift your hips forwards so your butt is just in front of the bench. Slowly lower your body towards the floor, bending your arms behind you until they form a 90-degree angle. Straighten your arms as you lift your body back up, pushing your palms into the bench and your heels into the floor. Repeat for 60 seconds. BackwardS Box jumP Why This explosive move strengthens the legs and gets your heart pumping. hoW Stand on a step or box (about 20cm high). Step off to place your feet hip-width apart on the floor. Slightly bend your knees, then push off through your toes and jump up and back onto the box, tucking your knees up and ensuring that your body stays straight. Keep your knees soft as you land. This is 1 rep. Aim to do 2 sets of 6 jumps in 60 seconds. Get stronG in 60 seconds Single leg SquaT Why This is great for hip stability and strengthening quads and hamstrings. hoW From a standing position, raise your arms to shoulder height in front of you, palms down, and lift your right leg in front so that your toes are just off the floor. Keeping that foot raised, squat until your butt is just above the level of your grounded knee, then push down into your left heel to drive back up to standing. This is 1 rep. Do 3 reps, then repeat with your right foot pointing out to the right, and then again with your right foot behind you and out to the left (pictured). Raise your legs straight up with your feet together and knees slightly bent. Activate your abs, then in one smooth movement, lower your legs to the right, touch the ground and raise them back to the centre. If you feel strain on your back or start to lose control, only lower to about 45 degrees. Repeat on the left side and return to the centre. This is 1 rep. Aim to do 10 reps in 60 seconds.
