This report summarises current knowledge of wetlands in the arid part of the Northern Territory, defined as that portion of the Northern Territory (NT) that is south of 20 degrees latitude (20° S). It is based on a project to inventory the wetlands and assess their significance for ecological conservation. The project
was carried out with financial assistance from the Natural Heritage Trust (NHT), as part of the National Wetlands Program, administered by Environment Australia (now the Australian Government Department of the Environment and Heritage).,
