(CAWLS) is a not for profit organisation funded by the Commonwealth Attorney-Generals Department and the Northern Territory Government and provides free legal advice and assistance to all Central Australian women. CAWLS is most pleased to have been successfully awarded a grant from the Commonwealth Attorney-Generals Department as part of the Australian Governments Indigenous Justice Program that seeks to increase community safety for Indigenous Australians. CAWLS is funded to deliver a unique program in Alice Springs to address a genuine gap in services. The Kunga Stopping Violence Program has the primary objective of minimising incarceration of Indigenous women by developing and implementing a program that is culturally appropriate and specifically tailored to address criminogenic needs. The program involves implementation of a case management model while the women are in custody and twelve months post release with the view to the women successfully transitioning to mainstream services and minimise reoffending. Possessing either relevant tertiary qualifications, or strong relevant skills and experience, you will display a track record in case managing clients with challenging behaviours and complex issues as well as an ability to deliver high quality project outcomes. As this position supervises vulnerable women, women at risk and women with challenging and complex behaviours, it is an inherent requirement of the position that the Case Worker is a woman. Generous remuneration will be negotiated, according to qualifications and experience.
