16 ENTERTAINMENT WEDNESDAY MAY 21 2014 SUBE01Z01MA - V1 Darwin band Worldfly will perform at the MAGNT amphitheatre on May 31. NT band flying high IT HAS been a year since Top End fans have had the chance to see Worldfly perform in their hometown. But after several months touring overseas, culminating in a German TV performance to three million viewers, the Darwin band is back. We will be putting on a magical show at the Darwin Museum Amphitheatre, band member Rebecca Harris said. Fans can expect to enjoy a cracking set list of Worldflys new songs as well as hear their favourites just prior to the release of our new album in Australia. She said the amphitheatre, behind the Monsoon Vineforest at the museum, is a magical venue that will provide the perfect backdrop for the kind of sonic and visual feast that Worldfly have become known for. The band recently took out an award in the Adult Contemporary section of the International Song Writing Competition. We came second, Harris said. With over 20,000 entries we were pretty chuffed. The gig is on Saturday, May 31, from 7pm, at the Museum and Art Gallery NT Amphitheatre, Conacher Street, Fannie Bay. Tickets $35 from the bands Facebook page, Eat at Martins Caf, Caryota Crt, Coconut Grove or via rebecca@worldfly.com.au Win free show tickets THE Suns Newspapers have a double pass to give away to Worldflys Darwin gig. For your chance to win, email your name and contact details with Worldfly in the subject line to mailsun@the suns.com.au by 5pm on Tuesday, May 27. Winner will be notified on May 28.
