08 NEWS WEDNESDAY MAY 21 2014 SUBE01Z01MA - V1 Father Rob Galea has toured the world and will perform in Darwin on Friday night. Picture: SUPPLIED Father set to sing with soul FATHER Rob Galea is not a typical Catholic priest. He is about to release his fourth record, working with a team who have produced for Justin Timberlake and The Ministry of Sound. He does an excellent Borat impersonation and he loves hitting the gym. Father Rob arrived in Darwin on Monday to begin seven days of touring across the NT. He will play a free concert open to all at St Marys Catholic Primary School in Darwin CBD on Friday at 6.30pm. I believe that music is a powerful instrument to reach into the hearts of people, young and old alike. I use music wherever I go, he said. Check out distinct flora and fauna ANYONE interested in unique Territory landscapes and the flora and fauna that call them home should get down to the Howard Sand Sheet Field Day this Saturday. Greening Australia and the Top End Native Plant Society are hosting the event. The Howard Sand Sheet is a landscape at risk and of high conversation significance in Darwins rural area, Greening Australia project officer Emma Lupin said. It contains a great diversity of insectivorous plants and rare species. There will be a great line-up of speakers with a depth of knowledge on the area, which is host to the endemic Howard River toadlet. The day begins at 9am at the turn-off to PAWA bore on the north side of Girraween Rd, 1km west of Howard River Crossing.
