WEDNESDAY MARCH 19 2014 WEATHER 47 V1 - NTNE01Z01MA Water levels great but hit and miss fishing continues IVE got a confession to make. My luck with the fishing gods has deserted me this year. Ive travelled long and hard down the South Alligator and up the East (twice!), used more fuel than a F1 race car, been belted at night by storms, eaten alive by mozzies and hammered by the tropical sun. Ive trolled, cast, flyfished, hit the upper reaches and the coastal creeks. Ive caught a few fish and had the odd multi-fish session but Im yet to feel the joy of being Johnny on the spot. Call me a sucker, but Im already planning my next assault, and cant wait! Its all part of the adventure, and I love being out on our major rivers during the run off. The floodplains are now draining off quickly, so we should start to see the fishing get a bit more consistent over the next few weeks. With the exception of the Daly, if we dont get another monsoon in early April, things may be over fairly quickly, so get amongst it. Some good reports have also started to come in from the bluewater now that the weather has settled, with some good Spaniards caught at the Pinnacles, and some great mixed bags being caught off the Perron Islands.
