NT NEWS. 47 P U B : NTNE-WS-DA-TE:30-AGE:47 CO-LO-R: C-M Y-K Tide turns in favour of Top Endweekend fishos Jewfish are the main target amongst the reefs within the mouth of the Adelaide By CRAIG GROSVENOR Berkley Nemesis Gulps are all go WELL, here comes another fabulous set of neap tides and they fall smack bang on to this weekend. Friday, Saturday and Sunday offer some great bottom bouncing and jigging tides so best take advantage of it while you can. So, where to go? It may sound funny, but on a real neap I tend to chase somewhere that is still likely to offer a bit of movement, that being a bottleneck or narrow waterway of some sort that might rid me of the no run, no fun theory. Thinking along those lines then, the Vernon Islands stand out like a sore thumb due to the deep channels between and around the islands and mainland that even on the neapest of neaps will still provide some movement. This area has provided for terrific snapper fishing this year, particularly on tides like these. Use your GPS mapping and sound around the contour lines in search of dramatic deviations in depth and structure. Plenty of mackeral smash these waters too, so be prepared by having single strand wire handy. Where else? The Narrows at Saltwater Arm is a big hit on the neaps also. Jewfish are the main target amongst the reefs within the mouth of the Adelaide, normally targeted at change of tide. Barra are also likely in the back eddies either side of the river just above and below The Narrows. Other locations of note for both baiting and jigging include Charles Point, Fenton and Bynoe Harbour mouth. Charles Point has been firing with goldies lately, possibly out-scoring jewfish catches which is really saying something. Fenton should still be feeling some movement, although not as prevalent as, lets say, Bynoe Harbour mouth where saddle-tail, goldies, cod, coral trout and javelin fish have produced healthy mixed bag catches this year. Its still the Berkley Nemesis and Jerkshad Gulps doing most damage on the jigging scene. Reef fish have been crawling all over them lately, even when used on the good ol paternosta rig. Keep an eye out for the tuna and mackerel bust-ups wherever you are. They are still touring in force, most visible during the neaps, wind prevailing. ntnews.com.au l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l lWEATHER ntnews.com.au l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l FISHING
