Bicycle Racks Yippee our bicycle racks have arrived and boy do they look snazzy! For those of you who have been up to the school this week, Im sure you managed to see from near and far our new bright yellow beauties. Earlier on in the year, it was brought to our attention the need for new bicycle racks. At the end of Term 2, the Pand F Committee were successful in their application for an in-kind contribution from Pacific Aluminium by way of fabrication of new bicycle racks for the students of NCC. This project has not only provided a safe, aesthetically pleasing and secure place to store an increased number of bicycles, but it will hopefully encourage a greater number of students to choose to ride to school each morning . Numerous studies have shown, exercise increases alertness and helps people to think more clearly what a great way for our children to start the day! The location of the new bicycle racks has also created more space (including the many trees that were previously used as handy support structures for many of the bikes) for the proposed Themed Playspaces to be built and utilised safely. The NCC Parents and Friends Committee would like to sincerely thank Gove Operations Pacific Aluminium for our 80 new bike racks. A HUGE thank you to the Fabrications Workshop team and their awesome apprenctices, for the time, skill and effort exerted in the fabrication of our new bicycle racks, and thank you also to the sand blasters and painters from Transpacific for their fabulous finishing touches. We are extremely grateful for the amazing Malcolm Farnsworth, the brains behind the operation, and the great communicator between the P and F and Pac Al. Thanks Mal for your super expertise, enthusiasm and hard work! New P & F Treasurer The NCC Parent's and Friend's Committee would like to sincerely thank Vicky Eastwood for her amazing efforts and hard work as Treasurer on our committee this year. We are extremely grateful and excited to announce that Lisa Barrett has volunteered her time and expertise in taking on the role of Treasurer for the rest of 2013. Congratulations Lisa, and welcome to our great committee! Canteen News The time has come to attempt the creation of TERM 4s Canteen Roster. We have had a couple of consistent helpers this term a HUGE thank you to Melissa Cruikshank and Vicky Eastwood, who have both worked tirelessly to assist our wonderful Canteen Coordinator, Cassie Ridolfi, most weeks throughout Term 3. Next term we need more volunteers to keep our canteen running smoothly. If you are able to assist on any Tuesday throughout Term 4, then please email Laura Butler (ricky_laura@westnet.com.au) with the date/ dates you are available to help from 8.15-1.15.
