Company Showcase | News Contact: Geoff Crowhurst Location: 15 Emungalan Rd, Katherine Tel: 08 8971 0717 Email: admin@crowhurstengineering.net.au Web: crowhurstengineering.net.au Geoff Crowhurst commenced as a sole trader in February, 2006 trading as JABFAB. Some eighteen months later the business had experienced healthy growth and GP & JL Crowhurst Pty Ltd was formed. May 2009 saw the opening of their first workshop at 4 Palmer St, Katherine and a change of name to Crowhurst Engineering. This original facility consisted of 650m2 of shed space on 3000m2 of land and this was sufficient in meeting the needs of the business at the time. With demand for work exceeding expectation, Crowhurst Engineering was required to run the 4 Palmer St facility 24 hours. Expansion was required. Geoff and Janette Crowhurst purchased land at 15 Emungalan Rd, Katherine in late 2012 and began construction of the new facility early 2013. As a local business, they knew the importance of supporting local business in their region and are proud to say their new shed had 100% local, Katherine content throughout construction. Crowhurst Engineering opened the doors to their brand new, purpose built facility on 12 August 2013. Consisting of 2200m2 of shed space, a 20 tonne overhead crane and on 11200m2 of land, they have been able to significantly expand their capability. The additional land space now also provides the opportunity for Crowhurst Engineering to expand into blast painting and rubber lining which will allow them to provide a complete start to finish service in house. Crowhurst Engineering The NTG has established a new Parliamentary Committee to look at issues surrounding the NTs energy future. The Committee will be made up of the following Members of the Legislative Assembly: Gary Higgins, Larisa Lee, Bess Price, Gerry McCarthy, Kon Vatskalis and Gerry Wood. This new Sessional Committee on the NTs Energy Future will look at issues including: The Territorys current energy capability; The prospect for additional energy resources; Alternative sources of energy supply available to the Territory, including oil, gas, coal, uranium; Renewable energy sources such as hot rock, solar, biofuels, wind and tidal energy; Emerging technologies and their applicability to the Territory. Establishing export markets can take a great deal of time and patience. It can also be a costly business activity. The Northern Territory Government recognises this and has developed the Trade Support Scheme to assist businesses.
