Acting senior park ranger Julie Heran said the falls and track had been closed since the end of last year for the wet season. The floodplains have now sufficiently dried out, and necessary repairs are being carried out on the road at the southern end of the track, Ms Heran said. The minor road works will be conducted under traffic control to ensure there is minimal disruption for park visitors. Club patron Lia Finocchiaro and president Steve Lawson celebrate with Palmerston Football Club members after the club received a $3500 grant. Club gets shady deal PALMERSTON Football Club is set for a makeover after receiving a $3500 grant from the NT government through the Community Benefit Fund Small Grants scheme. Club president Steve Lawson said the grant will make a big difference to the club and its members. It has allowed the club to purchase items that will benefit members, players and supporters, he said. Member for Drysdale and patron Lia Finocchiaro said the money will be used to buy much needed shade pergolas and a ride-on mower to improve the grounds of the club, which hosts junior and senior sporting events on a regular basis. Parents and supporters who routinely attend games at the weekend will be provided with a more comfortable viewing space while being kept out of the sun, she said. The ride-on mower is also a valuable purchase and will make it easier to transport equipment around and maintain the grounds. Community Benefit Fund Small Grants provide up to $5000 for Territory organisations. The next round of grants is open until the end of August.
