The opportunities to live out on the country and to therefore transmit cultural knowledge have become increasingly limited. Contemporary lifestyles and living arrangements do not facilitate cultural knowledge transmission. Modern lifestyles work against cultural transmission in the old style due to the loss of intimacy with and experience of country.,
