NT NEWS. 15 P U B : NTNE-WS-DA-TE:25-FGE:15 CO-LO-R: C-M Y-K on Switched YOUR WEEKLY TV GUIDE P ic t u r e : C H A N N E L 7 Shooting stardom By DARREN CARTWRIGHT BEING cast alongside two accomplished Australian actors made Daniel Lissings first major US television series a little easier to handle. The handsome actor, who has starred in Packed to the Rafters and Crownies, is now one of the eye candy US Navy SEALS in the military suspense drama on Network Seven, Last Resort. Lissing plays Petty Officer James King in the series about a US nuclear submarine crew who go rogue after being fired upon by their own countrymen. Hes one of the main characters along with compatriots Daisy Betts (Out of the Blue, Persons Unknown) and Dichen Lachman (Dollhouse, Being Human). Last Resort also stars seasoned US actors Andre Braugher, Robert Patrick and Scott Speedman. Having that Australian connection was really great, Lissing said. We got along really well and we all want to see Australian actors doing really well on big US projects. I really landed on my feet with this one and I felt very very fortunate to be working with such a high-calibre cast. Betts portrays Lieutenant Grace Shepard, the submarines navigator, while Lachman is Tani Tumrenjack, owner of a bar on the fictional island of Sainte Marina. Last Resort was axed after just 13 episodes. Even though the writers had to quickly end the series and tie up all the loose ends, Lissing says viewers will be extremely happy with the finished product. Last Resort, SCTV Darwin, Wednes day, 8.40pm
