Pike finds going tough GOLF TERRITORY golfer Aaron Pike has the challenge ahead of him following a tough opening day at the Australasian PGA Tour Qualifying School in Melbourne. The 27-year-old sits in a tie for 67th place after day one thanks to a fourover par 76 around the Peninsula Golf Club North Course layout. Pike experienced a rollercoaster ride with four birdies tempered by six bogeys and a double-bogey on the par-five 15th hole. The big right-hander is nine shots off the pace set by South Australian Brendan Chant and Queensland talent Daniel Nisbet, but gets a chance to climb back up the leaderboard with an early 6.48am tee-time today. Chant, who took time away from golf due to injury, is back at the age of 40 with lofty ambitions. I plan to hopefully play as much on the PGA Tour of Australasia as I can, Chant said. The last two years I have been working at Coca-Cola in Adelaide. I had hurt my back travelling around playing too much, so I took a break to rest it.
