Keep drinking at that rate and you can keep on adding up those numbers, while taking into account your body metabolises about one standard drink every hour. At a quick count: consume nine drinks in three hours then minus one each hour absorbed and you could be blowing .12 (men) to .18 (women). Ouch. Understanding recovery time is even more scary. Have you replaced your fluids, did you eat, how long have you been drinking, and your level of drunkenness all affect how you sober up. As a general rule, if you got to .05 BAC, two to three hours may see you back to baseline. At twice that, .10 BAC, you might need four to five hours to return to zero. Six to eight hours of drinking steadily and youll need at least the same time to recover. Scientific findings range too dramatically to trust, with one scientific opinion settling somewhere in the range of .006 BAC (women) to .01 BAC (men) every hour after you have stopped drinking. Other findings rate the drop on a very broad average of around .015 per hour. The breakdown of alcohol may be helped by taking in fructose, but it still doesnt have a significant effect on BAC and it will always take significant time to rid your body of alcohol.
