Description

On right, Hedley Beare, first regional director of education. In 1972 the Northern Territory took over its education system and Beare was appointed as the foundation director for education. He was also appointed a member of the NT Legislative Assembly. At the time of Cyclone Tracy (1974) Beare was put in charge of managing the civilian evacuation.,
