STUDENT DIARIES As a reminder to all parents, students are issued with diaries when they enrol or commence the new year as we see these as a valuable organisational and management tool for students. If students lose their diaries, they can purchase another diary from the Front Office. Through the effective use of their Student Diary, students can develop sound time management skills. Students are encouraged to use their Student Diary as an organisational tool to help them keep track of homework and assignment due dates, scheduled tests and examinations and as a planning tool for other relevant school events. The proper use of the Student Diary reduces the possibility of creating stressful situations which will often result in poor performance due to lack of preparation. We also use the Student Diaries to monitor student movement around the school during class time. To ensure the effective use of the Student Dairy we ask the following of parents: Check and sign Student Diary each weekend on the relevant page Liaise with the teachers to follow up, as appropriate, on any issues raised by teachers or your child. By checking and signing the Student Diary, parents/ carers are able to get a snapshot of work due, time spent out of class and homework. During Homeroom on Mondays, teachers check that the Student Diary has been signed and any comments made by parents are noted. Your cooperation in encouraging and checking your childs use of the Student Diary is an important step in encouraging students to manage their time and meet their deadlines as well as provide another communication tool between parents/carers, students and school. Garden Assistance Items Wanted Miss Cassie is going to start the NHS school garden soon. We require donations of seeds, plants (herbs, veg), soil, building materials, planter boxs, broccoli boxs, etc..
