Under a new initiative to attract outstanding principals, the WA Department of Education is offering incentives of up to $28,703 a year for up to three years on top of usual salaries and allowances. The trial also includes school grants on achievement in key areas. The principals performance agreement, attraction incentive and school grant will apply for up to three years. We are seeking an experienced principal who demonstrates effective leadership of people and management of resources, is able to develop strong community partnerships and motivate and enable staff and students to achieve in line with school priorities. This Principal position will be recruited through a nation-wide selection process and successful applicants must demonstrate their experience and achievements in improving school performance in complex environments. Bayulu Remote Community School Total remuneration of $166,118 to $175,458 a year (Includes additional allowances for up to three years & superannuation calculated at 9%) Level 4 $110,656 to $117,904 per annum (SEA GA 2011) Kimberley Education Region (Position number 00028110) 3 Years Fixed Term Bayulu Remote Community School is located in the Kimberley Education Region 16km from Fitzroy Crossing and 2,700kms north east of Perth. There are fi ve communities within the catchment area of Bayulu Remote Community School. These communities are proud of their ability to maintain a strong cultural identity and are eager to share this with staff and students in the school community. The school caters for 125 children from Kindergarten through to Year 7, all of whom are Aboriginal. Their fi rst language is Kriol with some Gooniyandi and Walmajarri being spoken. Standard Australian English is the childrens second language with some having it as their third. The school is committed to supporting a community initiative to overcome Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder and Early Life Trauma in the Fitzroy Valley. The school is involved in a multidisciplinary approach to improving child health that is community driven, research based and led by highly experienced Paediatricians. For this challenging and rewarding role, you will need to demonstrate your ability to work with parents, community members and service providers to address environmental and social factors affecting students learning and emotional well being. It is critical that you are able to lead, motivate and build the capacity of staff in planning and improving outcomes for students, as well as building strong partnerships with external stakeholders to promote the schools priorities and future directions.
