Workplace Health & Safety Advisory Council Annual Report 2010-11 Page 13 Transport and Storage subcommittee Current membership of the Transport and Storage subcommittee comprises: Louise Bilato (CHAIR) Australian Trucking Association NT Brian Malacari NT WorkSafe Peter Thorne NT WorkSafe Greg Turner Department of Planning & Infrastructure Barbara Littler Department of Planning & Infrastructure George Healy Perkins Shipping Richard Teo Seafood & Maritime Industry Thomas Mayor Maritime Union of Australia Justine Luders-Searle Transport Workers Union Leigh Greig Air North The following issues were referred by the Council to the subcommittee: Examine impact and application of impending national harmonisation of WHS laws initiatives in the transport industry, including: Investigate methods to increase industry awareness and readiness for the implementation of the national harmonisation of WHS legislation Commencement of Transport of Dangerous Goods by Road and Rail (National Uniform Legislation) Act and Regulations; National Fatigue Management Code of Practice; Implementation of the Australian Dangerous Goods Code (7th Edition) and model legislation; Implementation of the Australian Explosives Code (3rd Edition); Accreditation of Heavy Vehicle Operators in the Northern Territory; The assessment of Fitness to Drive; Consideration of data on injury in the transport and storage sector and input into prevention campaigns; Comment upon information bulletins and communication and consultation activities in the sector; Consideration of investigation reports of incidents and accidents in the sector and identify prevention strategies; and National Industry Solutions Program Working Group National Working Party for Quad Bikes.
