It was action stations at the library last week for NCCs much anticipated Book Week. Library teacher Marianne van Dam reported increased traffic at lunchtimes with students from every year level joining in the various activities. It is so encouraging when teachers put the ideas out there but it' s the children and parents who get excited and run with it, reported Marianne who was once again bowled over by the resourcefulness and creativity of the many Bible characters who converged on the school last Friday. From ancient kings, queens, animals from the Ark, Moses and Miriams it was a tough decision to award best dressed! However, judges from the Student Representative Council did a wonderful job although ALL participants are to be congratulated for getting involved and joining the fun! ...and we all enjoyed another fabulous Storytime under the Stars An enormous thank you to the Carter family from Peninsula Bakery for making damper and marshmallow for this popular evening. The homemade marshmallow made a big impression on the children who are still talking about it! Thank you also to Mr Venour and Lynne Walker for fantastic story reading.... And Mr van Dam and Ben van Dam who were the electrical and pyrotechnical crew for the night. However, none of this would have happened without the endless enthusiasm and hard work of our Library teacher Marianne van Dam - we salute you! And the winners are.... Transition Benjamin Pickford (a Wiseman) & Jade Erasmus (sheep in the Ark). Year 1 Andrew Carter (Joseph in coat of many colours) & Shelbie Francis (Pharaoh's Daughter). Year 2 Foster Gynell (King David) & Kuleni Venour (Noah's wife). Year 3 Zavier Dentith (Moses) & Naomi Rika (Queen Esther). Year 4 Hayden Pickford (Wiseman) & Hannah Fourie (Pharaoh's daughter).
