McCartney, 70, rocking on LONDON: Paul McCartney can still rock at 70 what more could a Beatle want? He celebrated his birthday in private yesterday, perhaps resting up between gigantic gigs this British summer. Once a pot-smoking coun terculture rebel, Sir Paul is very much part of the British Establishment now, closing the Queens Diamond Jubilee concert earlier this month with a mix of favourites that included a raucous All My Loving. Hes also preparing for a featured role closing the London Olympics opening ceremony on July 27. Its been a strong year for McCartney, who in October took his third wife, darkhaired American heiress Nancy Shevell, closing the book on his failed union from second wife Heather Mills. His first wife, Linda, died of breast cancer in 1998. He can still captivate a large arena with a simple acoustic performance of Blackbird and can shift gears for a Vegas-style, rendition of Live and Let Die. John Lennons widow Yoko Ono tweeted birthday wishes to McCartney, and Paul Weller made a one-day only digital release of the Beatles song Birthday as a tribute, with proceeds going to charity. In the run-up to his birthday, McCartney, a long-time vegetarian, urged the public to cut back on the consumption of meat to help cut greenhouse gas emissions and ease global warming. Harry hits the deckwith headaches Daniel Radcliffe LONDON: Actor Daniel Radcliffe is suffering from a rare, agonising medical condition known as cluster headaches. The star of the box-office phenomenon Harry Potter franchise was forced to cancel commitments this year when the pain became so extreme he sought medical attention. The 22-year-old was diagnosed as suffering from a condition that causes intense pain on one side of the head and is experienced by just 1 per cent of the population. I was in the middle of these weird things called cluster head aches. Its very rare evidently, but its exceptionally painful. It makes a migraine look quite tame, Radcliffe has told Britains The Independent newspaper. At the time I thought I was . . . being a wuss. I was taking 12 (strong painkillers) a day and going Why do I still have a headache? Murray fears jail death LOS ANGELES: Conrad Murray, who was Michael Jacksons personal physician at the time of the King of Pops death, reportedly fears he will die in jail. Murray was found guilty in November 2011 of the involuntary manslaughter of Jackson, who died in June 2009. Murray, who received a four-year sentence, has spent the past seven months in the Los Angeles County Jail. Celebrity news site TMZ reports Murray is worried about the lack of medical care there. I may not make it out of here alive. This is a very dangerous place. Im in here dying, he told his lawyer Valerie Wass. Cowell beats Nazi leader Simon Cowell LONDON: Simon Cowell has the most recognisable face in showbiz, according to a British poll. A survey of 1000 adults determined 943 people recognised The X Factor mogul, putting him in second place behind Nazi leader Adolf Hitler, who was named by 944. The poll was bad news for Lady Gaga. Despite her legion of fans, just 705 of the 1000 recognised her, which placed her further down the list than historical figures including Henry VIII, Queen Victoria and former British prime minister Margaret Thatcher. Stones roll on LONDON: The Rolling Stones have denied they are to retire next year following a headline slot at Britains Glastonbury Festival. The veteran rockers, including frontman Mick Jagger, left, were said to be planning their final performance at the summer music festival in June 2013, following a handful of gigs in the UK and US this year, as a celebration of their 50th anniversary. But representatives for the band have said there is no truth to the reports. Please, dont let go Russian figure skating pair Fiona Zaldua and Dmitry Sukhanov perform at the Artistry on Ice show in Shanghai, the final show in a tour that started in Taipei, Taiwan, and dazzled audiences in Shenzhen and Beijing.
