Although based in Alice Springs there will be opportunity for travel to remote communities, working with traditional owners and others. The position is offered as a 3 year contract. They will have sound business management skills and demonstrate a sophisticated understanding of the contemporary Indigenous arts industry. Appreciation of the social demographic of Maningrida and its surrounding outstations and empathy and respect for the challenges Indigenous people face in a contemporary social context, is required. Particularly in maintenance and transference of traditional culture. Ensuring training and professional development opportunities for local Indigenous employees is a key priority of this position. Excellent communication skills and an ability to be effi cient in a culturally diverse work environment are also essential. Computer skills are essential and experience with AMS & MYOB would be advantageous as the use of these programs is necessary to the day to day running of the Art Centre.
