Description

"The study has been commissioned by the Department of Lands, Planning and Environment to provide relevant infomration regarding the region generally considered to be associated with the Savannah Way tourism initiative. The study has been commissioned as a Desktop Survey reliant on readily available sources of information, and one that might be used as a resource document, partifularly in the listing of available resources ( see Section 6, references) that might in turn be utilised for the installation of any required infrastructure and/or design, preparation and production of interpretive materials. The information provided in the body of this study also includes that pertaining to the landforms, climatic conditions, brief historical overviews where relevant, a regional timeline, and suggested points of interest for consideration as sites suitable for future development and interpretation. The study is intended as stage one of the initial process towards the selection of a range of sites for possible interpretation. Stage two is to be a physical survey of the Savannah Way to determine the suitability or otherwise of the sites for possible interpretation and/or other required works". -- INTRODUCTION, Made available via the Publications (Legal Deposit) Act 2004 (NT).,
