6 Sunday Territorian. Sunday, December 11, 2011. www.sundayterritorian.com.au P U B : N T N E W S D A T E : 1 1 -D E C -2 0 1 1 P A G E : 6 C O L O R : C M Y K From 96. Oh dear! The federal pollie has had a torrid time of it in Canberra. She was savaged by CLP patriarch Marshall Perron. Clearly stung by the attack, she said she hadnt decided whether to stand again - but, luckily for journalists, has changed her mind. There has been talk of disendorsing her but that wont happen. CLP leader Terry Mills can say told you so - he wanted Gary Lambert to stand. 120 TERRY LILLIS From 72. Bookmaker. The founder of internet gambling. Sold Centrebet for squillions. Now a minor player compared with the new internet gambling juggernauts. But does he give a damn? Horse owner and trainer. 119 FRANK McGUINESS From 128. The world needs blokes like him. The auditor-general keeps the NT Government and its agencies honest by checking the books. Isnt afraid to put the boot into the Labor administration or the CLP Opposition if he thinks our money isnt been spent according to the rules. Should be given more staff to do the job. 116 GERRY McCARTHY Up from 124, but only because others took his place further down the list. Yet another wellmeaning man totally unsuited for the grubby business of politics. The Transport Minister should hold his Barkly seat for Labor, partly because the CLP candidate lives 500km outside the constituency. 115 PHILLIP NECK Down from 98. Darwin Turf Club boss has the job of organising the Cup Carnival, which is still a massive event, but not the standout highlight of the year that it once was - much more happens in the vroom-vroom NT nowadays. 17 118 NATASHA GRIGGS 117 KARL HAMPTON From 113. Nice bloke, lousy politician. Labor Environment Minister. May have to fight Auntie Bess in his seat of Stuart at the next election. 48 9 8 22 4
