The new site will be launched for the start of term next year and aims to become an important communication link between the College, parents and stakeholders. Features include enhanced, user-friendly navigation, upto-the-minute news feeds, blogs and links to social media accounts. Further building on our online presence, the Kormilda Facebook page will be administered next year by our Middle and Senior School Leaders who will also be assigned their own Twitter accounts! This will be a great forum for our students to become involved with under the stewardship of our student leaders. Congratulations to our NTCET and IB Graduates Well done to our hard working Year 12s and our thoughts are with them while we wait with great excitement for the results of their exams NTCET will be released soon and the IB results will be known early January. Kormilda will publish these achievements in the media to coincide with the start of term, to celebrate this huge accomplishment. We look forward to keeping in touch with our former students, especially through our Facebook page, on their university and career journey. New Pastoral Care Programme The new Programme aims to create a stronger sense of community across all year groups including day students, boarders and the new, Year 6 students who start at the College next year. Each student will be assigned to a house and house tutor group made up of a range of year levels. Senior students will have an enhanced opportunity to become role models and mentors, gaining leadership skills whilst providing guidance and support for the younger students in their houses. The Programme will also foster academic and sporting excellence and encourage healthy competition between each house. have a very happy new year and we look forward to you being a part of the Kormilda experience in 2012! 2012 Calendar Event The Kormilda Foundation will be formally launched mid 2012. The Foundation aims to raise support for Scholarships and Bursaries for students attending the College. A particular focus will be to raise funds to ensure the quality Kormilda experience is available for urban Indigenous students. 2012 Highlight Talks between Kormilda and Charles Darwin University have been held throughout the year regarding a new and innovative partnership that will strengthen our relationship and learning experience. Please watch this space for an exciting announcement in the new year.
