Our role: To meet the growing demand for residential land in the Northern Territory, the Land Development Corporation (Corporation), in June 2010, called for Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified entities to enter into a joint venture with the Corporation to deliver Stage 1 of the new Palmerston suburb of Zuccoli. Zuccoli is one of four new suburbs currently being developed in Palmerston and is located to the south of the newly constructed suburb of Johnston, southwest of the Stuart Highway, and approximately 20km southeast of Darwin. The Zuccoli Stage 1 site is approximately 96 ha and is bordered by Lambrick Avenue to the North, Radford Road to the east and undeveloped land to the south and west. In April 2011 private sector developer Urbex Pty Ltd (Urbex) was appointed as the Corporations delivery partner. Urbex Pty Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of the BMD Group, one of Australias largest privatelyowned civil construction and urban development organisations, which has operated in the Territory for over 15 years. Where its up to: The Development Application for Phase 1 of Stage 1, which is expected to deliver approximately 142 lots to the market has been lodged, with construction expected to start by the end of 2011 with lots for sale, off the plan, before 2012. Features: The master planning for the whole of Zuccoli is currently being finalised by the Northern Territory Government, however the suburb is expected to take advantage of the natural environment, including the benefits of Mitchell Creek, as well as provide social and commercial infrastructure such as schools, village centres, parklands and conservation areas. t2030 aChiEvEmEnts: S1.2.3, ES3.2.1, ES3.2.4, ES3.4.3, KC6.3.1 The new suburb was named in memory of aviation enthusiast Guido Zuccoli.
