Page 3 of 10 Saturday Stitchers 17 September 2011 Stitchathon/Quilt in a Day A total of 13 quilters assembled at the club rooms from 9am with sewing machines, projects and senses of humour. A power outage, caused by the demand created by several irons and the urn all being turned on at the same time was corrected by a phone call to locate the circuit board and the day progressed without further incident. A number of tops were completed during the day, as well as some quilts, and a couple of quilters took advantage of the day to progress the machine quilting on their projects. A couple of husbands also showed their support by arriving at strategic times with, 1. freshly-baked fruit scones, for morning tea, and 2. a straight-from-the-oven casserole for dinner. Five of us made it through to 9pm including sitting down to a two-course dinner at 7.00pm. Definitely something we should do at least once a year. Thank you, Beverley for organising the day.
