An organised toad bust of 80 volunteers captured 379 toads at Marlow Lagoon over three nights. Conservation Volunteers Australia regional manager Hannah Brodie-Hall said it was a great sucess. "The city donated some great prizes for people who caught the most toads," Ms Brodie-Hall said. "There were lots of kids and families, everyone really enjoyed it. Toads were taken to a toad detention centre at the RAAF base, where they are left for environmental agency Frogwatch to collect them. "They have a little house there, there's an insect trap so they get something to eat, and they get water while they're waiting for Frogwatch to come and get them," Ms Brodie-Hall said.
