NT NEWS. 39 P U B : N T N E W S D A T E : 3 -M A Y -2 0 1 1 P A G E : 3 9 C O L O R : C M Y K Fish frenzy as holiday double dosage delights Quinton Pope with a feisty little South Alligator barra Use soft plastics or shallowminnows for the barra, andKevin Eccles for the crocs By DAVE KRANTZ THE fishing reports just keep coming as the double dose of long weekends weve enjoyed lately mean plenty of people out on the water. Its crowded at all the usual run-off spots like Shady, but worth making the trip for a crack at a big one. The South is firing too. Barra are on the bite upstream, and barra and crocs downstream. Use soft plastics or shallow minnows for the barra, and Kevin Eccles for the crocs. Glenn Harbourmaster Hubble hit the South and enjoyed a good upstream session on fish up to about 70cm. Brook Creek and The Rookery are likely to hold bigger fish but they can be hard to both hook and stop. The East Alligator will be next cab off the rank as the water drops. A couple of crews have made the trip around to the East via the coast and report hooking into some excellent barra sessions. On the offshore scene, Matt C reports good catches of golden snapper from Gunn Point. There are also plenty of blue salmon still around Gunn Point. There are jewies at Charles Point holding on the rubbly patches. Use your sounder to locate bait and the predators wont be far away. A few mackerel are starting to show up closer inshore now that the Dry is here. Its just a matter of deciding where to go fishing. ntnews.com.aul l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l WEATHER ntnews.com.aul l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l FISHING
