Community Services 70 Significant archival collections and oral histories were deposited in the Archives. 132 collections/series of archives were acquired and made available. 56 oral history recordings were deposited and 31 transcriptions made available for community research. 2,407 archives collections were managed. 859 customers visited the research room. This is a 14% increase on last year when 736 customers visited. These customers were provided with access to 50,899 archival items. This is a 361% increase on the number of archival items accessed last year, which were 16,348. History Grants totalled $50000 and were awarded to 17 successful applicants. Recipient and grant details are at appendix G. This graph shows the number of oral interviews recorded over the last 5 years together with the number of hours transcribed for community access. The graph shows the number of visitors to NT Archives seeking access to archival records and the % of requests satisfied. Over 50,889 archival items were made available to visitors during the year, 360% up on the previous year. Audits No audits were undertaken on this product during the year. Initiatives 2004/05 A carry over initiative from 2003/04 is the installation and implementation of an archives management system, which will improve the management of the archives collections, enabling improved community access.
