Our People 89 Graph shows the number of staff (FTEs), by gender for each year over the past five years. The ongoing reduction in staff over the last three years is a result of productivity gains through improved systems and procedures primarily in bureau services (payroll and accounting). The graph shows that females continue to reduce at a greater rate than males. The ratio has gone from 2.2:1 in 1999/00 to 1.8:1 on 2003/04. The graph shows the comparative breakdown between males and females within administrative level groupings (or equivalent salary range.) The top graph splits gender group by level as a % of total staff, whereas the bottom graph splits the gender group by level as a % of gender group. Both graphs show little change over the two years. The ratio of females to males is now under 2:1 with males steady at the higher levels but occupying slightly more positions within the bottom two groupings. The strategy to advance women in the workplace has had minimal impact to date with only three additional positions being occupied by women at A06 or higher since the previous year. Staff Survey The fourth annual staff survey resulted in an overall average score of 76%, 6% up on the previous year with a 62% participation rate. The results and comments arising from the survey were work shopped within work groups for the purpose of developing strategies to address issues arising. The aim is to further improve the staff satisfaction rating. 0 100 200 300 400 500 600 700 800 900 19 99 /00 20 00 /01 20 01 /02 20 02 /03 20 03 /04 N o St af f Females Males split at level by gender as a % gender group 0% 10% 20% 30% 40% 50% 60% 2002/03 Females 2003/04 Females 2002/03 Males 2003/04 Males AO1 - AO3 AO4 - AO5 AO6 - AO7 AO8 - EO1 EO2 & Above split at level by gender as a % total staff 0% 10% 20% 30% 40% 50% 60% 2002/03 Females 2003/04 Females 2002/03 Males 2003/04 Males AO1 - AO3 AO4 - AO5 AO6 - AO7 AO8 - EO1 EO2 & Above
