Rainfall Most of the Northern Territory received average to below average rainfall during September. The Darwin-Daly district was an exception, were rainfall early in the month contributed to many sites recording above average rainfall for September. Southern areas of the Alice Springs District also recorded above average rainfall for the month. Stations in the Alice Springs District recorded rainfall in the days around the 3rd. The Darwin-Daly District recorded rainfall from the 5th to the 12th and then again on the days surrounding the 24th. On the 16th, 17th and 18th, the Alice Spring District recorded thundery showers. The wettest overall was 86.6 mm at Noonamah AWS, followed by 84.8 mm at Elizabeth Valley and then 66.4 mm at Darwin River Ridge. The wettest single day 62.2 mm at Elizabeth Valley, followed by 61.2 mm at Noonamah AWS and then 39.8 mm at Humpty Doo Fire Station, all recorded on the 8th.
