Drainage lines in rugged terrain; narrow ( < 200 m), normally incised to < 2 m. Imperfectly to poorly drained; waterlogged with'moderate periods of inundation,during wet season. Yellow earths (Tortilla II); moderately deep and usually sandy in upper reaches; weakly developed solodics (Bundey I) in lower reaches towards major alluvials. Very variable; woodland to open forest ~. polycarpa, .E. grandifolia, ~. papUMa, E. ,bigalerita" Melaleuca spp.) and perennial grass land (Arundinaceum. nepalensis, Eriachne burkittii, CoelorhEichis, Panicwn spp., Themeda australis) or sedgeland (Cyperus sp., Fimbristylis spp., 'Scleria sp., Rhynchospora ap.). Waterlogging and inundation; very erodible. Suitable for rough grazing during dry season; stocking should be controlled to ensure grass i cover always provides good surface prote'ction. .'
