These include: a) b) c) pH, turbidity and conductivity measurements to check field results Determination of dissolved oxygen on the 500mL sample. This is carriec out using the Winkler filtration method. The auto-analyser is used to check some k~DEL results eg. SO,, NO,/N0 3 etc. 6.5 Laboratory Analysis Following is a SQ~ary of methocs used for particular analysis by Pu~EL: 6.5.1 General Parameter Analvsis ki\JALYSIS pH Conductivity Turbic1i ty Total Hardness Total Alkalinity ) Carbonate ) Bicarbonate ) Hycroxide ) Calci uin Magnesium Sodium Potassium Chloride Fluoride Sulphate Nitrate Nitrite/Nitrate Arrunonia Total nitrogen Phosphate Silica Dissolved residue Suspenced solids 6.5.2 Heavy metals METHOD Glass electroce Conductivity bridge Nephlometric (Hach) Calculated Titrate to given concitions AAS using Cs as ionisation suppressant Ca/Mg - NzO - acet flame Na/K - air - acet flame more recently by ICP at Pu~DEL Argentometric titration Soecific ion electrode Auto analyser (colorimetric) " " " " " " Specific ion electroce colorimetric (auto analyser) colorimetric (auto analyser) Gravimetric Gravimetric The majority of rretal w.alyses are car::i.ed out by A.AS/g::-a?hit:e :::u...vnace rrethods.
