It is situated adjacent to two small creeks - Hickey Creek and Koongarra Creek, which drain into Nourlangie Creek from the East, and then into the South Alligator River, again from the East. I I I I It is important to note that due to the seasonal nature of rainfall, streams do not flow continuously, ar1d monitoring J is concentrated in these periods of flow. Cooper Creek normally flows between Decembe::::- and June 1 ~Iagela Creek bet:Neen December and July, and the smaller tributaries between December I and May following rains.
