We feel that this objective could best be achieved by attaching to the staff of the Supervising Scientist, a scie~tific statistician who co~ld also carry out the statistical analyses required in other project areas. In view of the high cost of cheoical analyses it is esse~tial that this exercise be co~pleted as soon as possible with a view to reducing the total number of analyses proposed as part of this progran.
