I' 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 (i) Local travel restrictions Assuming that the leave which the local residents take is not seasonal but uniformly distributed and flooding restrictions prevent travel for one week then 500 local residents will be restricted in their movements. (ii) Tourist travel restrictions The influx of tourists to Alice springs is seasonal. The financial implications to the restriction to tourist travel needs to be assessed. (iii) Freight travel restrictions This topic covers local freight contractors' loss of income, factors relating to the rail freight delays and spoiling of perishables. Data for this topic can be obtained from: (i) Bureau of Statistics (ii) Tourist Commission (iii) Local freight companies (iv) Australian National INTANGIBLE DAMAGES These factors as described in the project brief can be summarised once information has been obtained from the following sources: (i) The medical profession (ii) The insurance companies TIMETABLE I estimate that six weeks m1n1mum is still required to collect the data and complete the report, providing the project officer gets a clear run at it. If the project is to be dispersed amoungst other projects then it is extremely unlikely that the project will be finished before March.
