Like the Gulf Fall and Uplands, most of the region has been leased as pastoral properties with small areas of freehold or crown land. Most of the area is highly prospective. Tourism is rapidly becoming the major industry of the region with amateur fishing being the major drawdrrd. North Island of the Pellews Group of Islands has been leased to the CCNT by its Aboriginal owners as a National Park and the whole of the Pellews Group is listed on the Register of the National Estate.. . .
