MONTHLY OPERATIONS ANALYSIS For each final damsite. the reservoir operations model was run for a range of spillway crest levels and drafts. Statistics including failure rate and regulation were determined for all runs. Results of the reservoir operations are summarized in Figures 10.1 to 10.9. A failure rate of 5% was adopted for the selection of appropriate spillway crest levels. Regulation is typically in the range between 50 to 70% and a value of 65% was used in the selection process to determine spillway levels. The draft and spillway level values corresponding to the above failure rate and regulation constraints were derived from the graphs shown in Figures 10.1 to 10.9. These values were replotted (also presented on Figures 10.1 to 10.9) and spillway conditions which satisfy both regulation and failure rate constraints are given by the intersection of the two curves. The resulting spillway level and draft recommendations are compiled in Table 10.2. The recommendations are preliminary and the general relations in Figures 10.1 to 10.9 may be used to reassess spillway conditions for different design specifications.
