Technical Report WRD89055 Viewed at 15:07:05 on 29/07/2010 Page 10 of 45. 3 DATA COLLECTION 3.1 General General infonnation that would facilitate the selection of preferable dam sites was collected. Broadly, this involved a compilation of data relating to local fauna, vegetation, historical sites, geomorphology, recreation and aboriginal sites. A comprehensive review is presented in Volume 2 of the study report. 3.2 Hydrological Data PAW A maintains a network of gauging stations and pluviometers within the study area, as shown in Figure 3.1. Details are summarized in Tables 3.1 and 3.2. During the course of the study, streamflow and rainfall data was collected to aid catchment yield and design flow analysis. Intermittent water qUality sampling was undertaken between 1959 and 1987 by P A WA at a number of sites in the study area. Most of the sampling was done in conjunction with the stream gauging program. Sampling at other locations were done on an ad hoc basis in response to local needs. Locations of the sampling sites are also shown in Figure 3.1 PINE CREEK REGION SURFACE WATER RESOURCES ASSESSMENT Page 5
