Annual Costs 1,,0 0.1 1 1 If treatment facilities are to be provided for the Ilarwin water supply, it would be desirable to first establish an experimental pilot plant to determine the most appropriate proce~ses and optimum chemical dosing rates. It is envisaged that an 18 Ml/aay plant may be established above McMinns with flexibility to treat maxjrrmin day supply from Manton Dam or, experimentally, partial supply from Ilarwin River Dam. The order of capita". cost would be $1.2 million with annual costs of $200,000 (excluding cost of preparatory works and ccntrol). 8.3 l?u.!np from Dantin River Dam to Manton Dam which would be used .:.t.S a tel"'lJlinal water st('rage leaving Darwi..'l River Dam a'-ailable for recreational use. This concept relies on a retention system to improve the quality of stored water. Water would be pumped from c. new intake tower in the Ilarwin River Dam to Manton Dam and thence by new pumps through new pipelines to Mc~s. The order of cost of two pumpi.~ soaolons, river intake and pipelines would be $ 20 million with annual costs of $200,000.
