Technical Report WRD85003 Viewed at 14:07:03 on 29/07/2010 Page 27 of 45. The typical total dissolved solids content is between 50 and 100 mg/L. The total alkalinity of the water as indicated by the limited sample size is between 10 and 20 mg/L. In each case this was marginally greater than the total hardness of the same sample. The groundwater quality changes upon interfacing with the limestone aquifer underlying the Venn Airstrip area. Water sampled from bore 22008 appears to be within a transition zone between the acidic waters of the Cretaceous sandstone aquifer and the slightly alkaline (pH of 7.1 to 7.6; total alkalinity 300 mg/L) waters typically from bores in close proximity to the Venn area.
