HYDROGEOLOGY STUART HIGHWAY The geological environment for both bores on the Stuart Highway is similar. _"pproximately 40m of clays and sands of the Mullamar.. Beds (Lo"~'ler Cretaceous) overly limestones and dolomites of the Tindal Limestone (Hid Cambrian). Depth to basement in the area varies and basement consists of basalt of the Antrim Plateau Volcanics {Lower Cambrian) . The Tindal Limestone is the most productive aquifer in the area. The limestone is orten cavernous and fractured with common siltstone interbeds. Circulation is generally lost during drilling. DELAMERE ROAD The ge010g'" in this area differs significantly in some aspects cornea red to the Stuart Highway.
